Singer-Songwriter Program

Program Terms & Registration Agreement

Program: 6-Week Singer-Songwriter Program   •   Tuition: $299   •   Enrollment: 4-student minimum / 8-student hard cap

1. Program Tuition

Tuition for the complete 6-Week Singer-Songwriter Program is $299 per student. Tuition covers all six instructional sessions and participation in the final Singer-Songwriter Showcase. Tuition is charged for enrollment in the complete program and is not priced on a per-class basis.

2. Enrollment and Seat Reservation

Enrollment is limited to 8 students. A minimum of 4 fully paid students is required for the program to operate. Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. A student's place is not reserved until the required payment has been received.

3. $49 Registration Deposit

A $49 deposit is required to reserve a place while Frets & Beyond determines whether the program will proceed. The deposit is applied toward the $299 tuition, leaving a $250 remaining balance. If Frets & Beyond cancels the program because minimum enrollment is not reached, payments collected will be refunded to the original payment method. Once Frets & Beyond confirms that the program will proceed, the $49 registration deposit becomes nonrefundable.

4. Program Confirmation and Go/No-Go Decision

Frets & Beyond will make the program go/no-go decision no later than September 19, 2026. The academy may confirm the program earlier once sufficient enrollment is secured. Four deposits alone do not constitute final minimum enrollment; the program is officially confirmed when Frets & Beyond has at least 4 fully paid participants and communicates that the program will proceed. This structure allows Frets & Beyond to continue completing an enrollment already in progress near the decision date rather than being required to cancel solely because of an arbitrary cutoff.

5. Remaining Balance and Late Registration

Once Frets & Beyond notifies registrants that the program is proceeding and requests final payment, the remaining $250 balance is due within 48 hours of that request unless Frets & Beyond provides a different written deadline. A participant is not fully enrolled until the balance is paid. Registrations accepted after the program has been confirmed must pay the full $299 at registration. Enrollment closes when the 8-student capacity is reached or when Frets & Beyond closes registration.

6. Student Cancellations and Refunds

Before Frets & Beyond confirms that the program will proceed, a participant may withdraw and request a refund of the $49 deposit. Once the program is confirmed, the $49 registration deposit is nonrefundable. If a participant withdraws after paying the balance but before the first class, tuition paid beyond the $49 deposit will be refunded only if Frets & Beyond is able to fill that participant's place with another fully paid student. Once the program begins, all tuition is nonrefundable. No partial refunds, credits, or prorated tuition are provided for voluntary withdrawal after the program begins.

7. Registration Transfers

Registrations may not be transferred to another person without prior approval from Frets & Beyond Music Academy. Any approved transfer must occur before the first class and is subject to program eligibility and available administrative time to complete the transfer.

8. Missed Classes

Because this is a cohort-based group program, individual absences do not qualify for refunds, tuition credits, prorated tuition, or private makeup lessons. Students are encouraged to attend all sessions because each class builds on previous work. When practical, the instructor may provide general guidance about material or work missed, but Frets & Beyond does not guarantee replacement instruction or individualized makeup sessions.

9. Academy or Instructor Cancellation; Schedule Changes

If Frets & Beyond must cancel an individual class because of instructor illness, severe weather, utility interruption, facility issue, emergency, or another circumstance affecting safe or reasonable operation, the academy may reschedule the session or make another reasonable schedule adjustment. A rescheduled academy-cancelled session is not treated as a student absence. If a cancelled instructional session cannot reasonably be rescheduled or otherwise provided, Frets & Beyond will determine an appropriate remedy for that affected session. If Frets & Beyond cancels the entire program before it begins, program payments collected will be refunded. Frets & Beyond will communicate material schedule changes as soon as reasonably practical.

10. Program Schedule

The planned schedule is:

11. Final Showcase

The Singer-Songwriter Showcase is the culmination of the program and gives participants the opportunity to perform the original song developed during the course. Showcase participation is included in tuition and there is no separate admission charge for invited family and friends. Students should plan to attend both the morning session and evening showcase on November 7. Showcase participation is strongly encouraged but is not required to complete the instructional portion of the program. Choosing not to participate in the showcase does not qualify a participant for a refund or tuition credit.

12. Student Conduct and Participation

The program is a collaborative creative environment. Participants are expected to treat the instructor, other participants, their creative work, guests, equipment, and the academy respectfully. Frets & Beyond reserves the right to remove a participant whose conduct is seriously disruptive, threatening, harassing, unsafe, destructive, or substantially interferes with the experience of others. Removal for misconduct does not entitle the participant to a refund.

13. Original Material and Intellectual Property

Participants retain ownership of the original songs, lyrics, melodies, and other original creative material they create during the program. Participation does not transfer ownership of a participant's composition to Frets & Beyond Music Academy or the instructor. Participants and guests may not copy, record, publish, distribute, perform as their own, or otherwise exploit another participant's original song or creative material without that participant's permission.

14. Photography, Video, Audio and Promotional Use

Frets & Beyond Music Academy may photograph, film, and/or record portions of the Singer-Songwriter Program and final showcase. When media permission is granted, the participant authorizes Frets & Beyond Music Academy to use photographs, video, and audio recordings depicting the participant for academy promotional, advertising, social-media, website, publicity, and other marketing purposes without additional compensation. For a participant under 18, permission must be granted by a parent or legal guardian. Media permission does not transfer ownership of the participant's original composition to Frets & Beyond. Frets & Beyond does not guarantee professional audio recordings, video recordings, photographs, or other media as part of tuition.

15. Recording by Participants and Guests

Participants and guests may not record, publish, livestream, post, or distribute another participant's original song, performance, or creative material without that participant's permission. Authorized photography, video, or audio captured by or on behalf of Frets & Beyond under the academy's media-permission process is separate from this restriction.

16. Participants Under 18

Participants under age 18 must be registered by a parent or legal guardian. The parent or guardian is responsible for accepting these Program Terms & Registration Agreement and providing any permissions required for the minor's participation.

17. Agreement to Terms

Registration and payment constitute acknowledgment of these Program Terms & Registration Agreement. Frets & Beyond requires the registrant (or parent/legal guardian for a minor) to affirmatively accept these terms during registration.

Registration acknowledgments are captured separately:
  • I have read and agree to the Singer-Songwriter Program Terms & Registration Agreement.
  • Media permission is a separate Yes/No choice and is not bundled with acceptance of these terms.
